How it all began
Our Story
It all began in 2016 — at home, with one tailoring machine and a simple passion for tailoring and fashion. I started stitching for people in my own community, close to 500 members strong, one blouse at a time. Slowly, word spread. More people came, more orders followed, and what started as stitching from home grew into something bigger.
Five and a half years ago, that home-based work took the shape of a proper boutique — with me and one master tailor working side by side, learning and growing with every order.
Today, that single tailoring machine has grown into a team of 14+ skilled hands. And the same word-of-mouth that once came from 500 community members now comes from a community of over 1.5 lakh followers across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube — people who trust us to get their blouse right.

What the boutique actually does differently.
Most women buy a readymade blouse by dress size and end up with the wrong fit. The community grew because Ammu explained the things a good tailor knows — bra and cup size, fabric behaviour, blouse margin, the cut that suits each body.
Akshara is what happens when that knowledge becomes the garment itself. Bridal and designer blouses, made to your measurements, with the pattern chosen for your shape — princess, box-princess, cross-cut — and the details worked by hand.
Aari work, hand and computer embroidery, kundan and temple-jewellery detailing, Tanjore-inspired motifs. Every order starts with a conversation about what you're wearing it for — and ends with a blouse that looks made on you, because it is.
